The software update 1.32.X introduces asymmetric generation for all Fronius Symo GEN24 and Fronius Symo GEN24 Plus inverters, as well as for the upcoming Fronius Verto. In countries with a three-phase electricity grid and where billing at the feed-in point is done precisely for each phase, this function allows self-generated electricity to be distributed across three phases according to the needs of local loads. Your customers benefit from these advantages:
In certain regions with three-phase grids, billing at the grid feed-in point is done precisely for each phase. If the inverter distributes power evenly across all three phases, this can lead to uneven grid feed-in and consumption, because household loads require varying amounts of power per phase. In the worst case, it may be necessary to purchase expensive grid power even though there is enough PV power available, but it is on the wrong phase. With asymmetric generation, electricity is produced precisely in the phase where the loads require it. This allows your customers to optimize their PV system usage and boost their self-consumption.
Please note the following points:
When working with photovoltaic systems, operators are often faced with the challenge of adhering to active power limits set by the grid operators. These specifications can be met either by static or dynamic adjustment of the power at the grid feed-in point.
The advantage of dynamic reduction is that the system operator’s own consumption is taken into account. This means that self-consumption is first covered before the power to be fed into the grid is reduced.
