TWO SEPARATE WIRE ELECTRODES IN ONE GAS NOZZLE ACHIEVE PERFECT WELDING RESULTS
With TimeTwin, Fronius brings a completely new innovation to the table: the GMAW process with twin wires allows you to weld at least twice as fast compared to standard processes. At the heart of the solution are our microprocessor-controlled TPS power sources. Two power sources that can be controlled separately and work with two separate wire electrodes are used. The electrodes are located in one gas nozzle and in a common weld pool. TimeTwin uses an inverter power source with 90% efficiency, 100% duty cycle at 900 amperes and maximum welding speed. The Robacta Twin welding torch is equipped with an extremely powerful dual cooling system for the contact tip and gas nozzle, which ensures high durability of the parts and a compact design. Thanks to the field-tested forced contacting, both welding wires are guided into the contact tip at a precisely defined angle. This ensures safe and reliable current transfer and puts an end to unpredictable current transfers.
FOR MECHANISED AND AUTOMATED WELDING
TimeTwin is equally suited to mechanised and automated applications, for example in the automotive and component supply industries; ship, apparatus and container construction; in the production of rail vehicles and in any type of overlay welding. This speedy twin wire process can be used on steel and chrome-nickel materials as well as aluminium and aluminium alloys.
